Summary of the House Committee Version of the Bill

HCS SRB 613 -- REVISION OF MISSOURI STATUTES

SPONSOR:  Goodman (Wasson)

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass" by the Committee on Rules by a
vote of 8 to 0.

This substitute repeals certain provisions of law which have
expired, sunset, terminated, or are ineffective as identified by
the Joint Committee on Legislative Research.

FISCAL NOTE:  Estimated Cost on General Revenue Fund of $12,546
in FY 2008, $0 in FY 2009, and $0 in FY 2010.  No impact on Other
State Funds in FY 2008, FY 2009, and FY 2010.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that the bill simply removes from
Missouri statutes various outdated or ineffective sections that
no longer have application.

Testifying for the bill was Representative Burnett for Senator
Goodman.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.

OTHERS:  Others testifying on the bill say that sections being
removed in the bill may still have some effect on their
departments and they requested that those sections be removed
from the bill.

Testifying on the bill were Office of the Secretary of State;
Department of Transportation; and Department of Labor and
Industrial Relations.
